Commercial vehicles

Design Director. Earlier attempts at this programme had failed. I led a new exterior through digital and full-size models to production approval, in diesel and electric versions. The truck went into production in 2025 and 2026 as the Tianlong KH.

For the commercial vehicle division I led exterior and interior from concept to A-class surfaces. The programme is on hold, so the images are blurred.

GWM wanted its first electric truck on the market fast and kept an existing cab. I designed a new exterior within that cab's fixed points. Sketch to production took a few weeks. The supplier made the first prototype parts straight from data, with no clay model.

Studio Manager for XDIN, running Volvo's external supplier studio in Greensboro. At its peak the studio had 45 people: designers, CAS modellers, engineers, UI/UX and colour and trim. It worked on the Volvo VNL and the Mack Pioneer in parallel, across cab sizes. The VNL was revealed in January 2024 and the Pioneer in 2025.

My studio took the Foton Kang Rui and Bao Rui light trucks and the Jilin electric city bus from concept to production. For MAN we developed a truck interior concept that started with research into how long-haul drivers live in the cab.
